SUBMISSIONS FOR THE MARCH ISSUE OPEN JANUARY 10

Poems for Persons of Interest publishes four issues a year, along with occasional contest issues. We accept submissions during our 4 month-long submissions periods in Jan/Feb, April, July, and October.

The next open submission period is from January 10 through February 10.

We are open to poems in all styles and on all subjects.

Guidelines

• During the submission window, submit up to five poems (no more than five total pages) to poemsforpoi@gmail.com. 
• Submit only previously unpublished poems. We do not consider poems that have appeared only on your own social media as "previously published."
• Submit Word documents or PDF files only.
• Start each poem on a new page.
• Indicate stanza breaks clearly.
• Include the words Poetry Submission in the subject line of your email.
• Include a biography of no more than 40 words in the body of the email.
• We welcome simultaneous submissions. Please let us know if a submitted poem is accepted elsewhere.
• We aim to reply promptly, but please wait at least two months after submitting before following up on your submission.
• In submitting to PFPOI, you are agreeing to assign us first serial publication rights if your work is accepted, and allowing us to reprint that work on our social media. All rights return to you after publication, but we do ask that you credit us if you republish the work elsewhere.
• We accept translations only where the original poem is in the public domain or you have permission to publish the translation from the original’s copyright holder.
