ABOUT PFPOI

Our Mission

Poems for Persons of Interest exists to provide a venue for both new and established poets working in any of the English-speaking world's poetic traditions. We aspire to be cross-pollinators --enriching the international poetry scene by giving poets of all ages and nationalities a place to grow side by side.

What Does PFPOI Do?

PFPOI publishes 4 issues a year featuring poetry of all kinds. We also run occasional contests centred on particular poetic forms. Starting this year (2026), we nominate for both the Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net.

Who Does PFPOI Publish?

  • We have published poets from all continents except Antarctica
  • We have published poets with many collections and poets with none
  • We have published formalists
  • We have published free-verse poets
  • We publish anyone who writes poems we like

Who is PFPOI?

Editor-in-Chief Alex Rettie: an older, formalist-leaning poet from Canada.

Poetry Editor Sarah Adeyemo: a younger, not as formalist-leaning poet from Nigeria.
